Walmart may just have the cheapest desktop PC available
I have many people ask me about the cheapest PC or notebook PC. Mostly notebooks, but Walmart is answering that one question with a new PC that they are now selling. The Everex Impact GC5302 is the PC I’m talking about. Carrying a price tag of $298, Its pretty much a bare bones PC, but it is completely functional for most people. I went over to Walmart.com to see if they had it listed but it isn’t there yet. There is a PC that is very similar to the Impact GC302, the GC5300 (for $348). Just taking a quick look, the only differences I can see is the GC5300 has less ram, a DVD burner and a 17" monitor. The stats on the Impact GC5302 are as follows:
- 1.5 ghz VIA C7-D processor
- 1 GIG DDR2 Ram (533MHZ)
- 56k Modem
- 10/100 Lan Ethernet
- Windows Vista Home Basic
- Open Office 2.2
- DVD/CD combo drive (no monitor)
One of the attractions of this PC other than the price is that it is considered a "green" PC, which means less power consumption. That saves you money all around. Like I said, this PC will not play Crysis, but it will indeed fetch all your Emails, web surf, and write all the documents you have the time to write like a champ. A Perfect "back to school" PC
