I have yet to buy BluRay player. Why? Well I bought an HDDVD addon for the 360, and loved it, and when HDDVD failed and I started to look at the price of BluRay drives, they were just too expensive (for me).

Samsung-BD-P1500$399, $499. I wasn’t going to pay that again, thats not to mention the movies, they were all close to $30 bucks a pop. I figured I’d wait till the prices drop or buy a PS3. Well I made up my mind a while ago against buying a PS3. So either a standalone player, or a Media center PC w/Bluray drive will be my next step.

 Just looking around, I find that there is a pretty inexpensive BluRay player, by none other than Samsung over at Amazon. Samsung’s BD-P1500 right now is listed for about $239 which is right in the price range that I like. The only problem is that is is one of the older models, As you know, BluRay has iterated on their players several times and there are issues with having to upgrade firmware to get movies to work etc. I haven’t kept up with it all that much so I’m not too familiar with it. But to let you know that this isn’t the latest and greatest. but when you think about it, who cares. as long as it will play all the BLuRay movies I get from netflix.
