Christmas is almost here, and people are always looking for gifts to give their loved ones (or themselves). I always like to look at all that is out there, the deals, whats available, and wish I could get these things myself as gifts. To be honest, I don’t get a lot of gifts for Christmas. I’m not married, and I’m a little old for Santa Clause so I just sit back and window shop. What I’m going to do this year is pick an item every day that I wish I would find under my tree and you guys can buy them for me, I’m kidding. You might find something that you want to top off your list though.

The first thing I have on my list for today is the Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1 receiver. Ive been a big fan of Onkyo Home theater equipment, as I own a nice little system now. My system is starting to get a little dated and I would love to replace the receiver. The HTguys did a nice roundup of receivers recently which included this Onkyo. The retail price for this receiver is about $499 but you can get it at Amazon for about $449.

One thing the Onkyo has that I currently I dont need but I will soon is 2 HDMI inputs. It supports 1080p, Dolby TrueHD, 7.1, 90 watts per channel…it is a pretty good deal. pair this reciever with a good pair of speakers and you’d have a system that sounds just as good as systems that cost double the price.
