Jonzee’s holiday wishlist item #4…R4DS Revolution
This is an item Ive read about recently and thought it was pretty cool. The R4DS revolution is a media player and other things for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite. I found this item at Amazon.com and I was actually surprised that something like this is sold at Amazon.
What is the R4DS Revolution?
The short and legit answer to that question, the R4DS is an addon for the Nintendo DS that allows you to play MP3’s, and video files right on your DS Lite. As popular the DS is, it would be a good device to have that functionality. Other things the R4DS allows you to do is play homebrew software and games.
Now the not so legit answer to that question and why most people are probably buying it. like I said, the R4DS will allow you to play homebrew games on your DS, but it also will allow you to play Nintendo DS and Gameboy advance roms. Without hacking the DS.
What? How does it do that?
The Addon is basically the same as a regular DS game cart. It fits in the regular game cart slot. Along the top of the R4DS is a slot to add a Micro SD card. You can connect the Micro SD card to your PC via card reader or the included USB to Micro SD drive and transfer any media or roms you have to the Micro SD card. once you put the memory card back in the R4DS and that into your DS lite, you can play all of the files you have stored on the card through your DS. looking at the Rom websites (that are very easy to find) that means you can carry about 30 or more games with you without having to carry 30 or more game carts.
Like I said, it is kind of odd that Amazon.com would have something like this selling at the website but it is, for now. So if you want one, buy it quick. It will cost you about $56 bucks (not counting the memory card)
