Its almost that time. Get ready for the holiday season, Shopping, Gifts, and Deals

We are about to head into the last 4 months of the year. School is starting. A few more weeks left in summer. Then we come up on the holiday shopping season. Some people (believe it or not) have already picked up gifts and items to get a head start. Some are waiting to see what types of deals will surface on that infamous day after thanksgiving we call “Black Friday”.

What will be the big items this year? What is everyone going to want?

This year, the iPhone has seen probably the biggest cell phone releases ever, and even though the hype has died down a bit, it will still be a major factor in making this an Apple holiday season.  Another thing to expect is the announcements of new iPods here shortly. And with the announcement of new iPods, goes another must have Item or gift to buy this season.

 

To be more specific, High Definition DVD players. HDDVD and Bluray. You can bet that there will be a big effort on both sides to push their players and movies in the coming months. I would guess we will be seeing an HDDVD player with around a $250 price tag. Bluray I don’t see getting that low, maybe about $399, But we will probably see discounts in other ways, such as free or discounted movies.

Also, it’s been a while since these players has launched, we will probably start to see some of the value priced (bargain bin) movies from both sides.

The Nintendo Wii has been a big seller since its launch and it will continue on right through the end of the year. Both of the other consoles will see a spike. The Xbox 360 due to a few high profiles games, and the PS3 for the built in Bluray player.

I’m really excited about what’s ahead. Get your check book, credit cards and route to the bank ready to spend some money.
