linksys Iphone.jpgLast week everyone got all happy because of this post made over at Gizmodo. For those that haven’t heard, the post simply stated- iPhone will be announced Monday-I guarantee it. It isn’t what I expected at all. And I’ve already said too much. –Brian Lam.  Well Monday came and we all waited and watched and held on to our wallets, and finally the announcement was made…but…it wasn’t what we were expecting.

Linksys announced they are launching a VOIP phone called the iPhone. As we find out later, Linksys has had the named "iPhone" trademarked years ago and finally decided to use the name for this new product.

As for the details about the iPhone, it is a VOIP phone that is compatible with all the major VOIP software. There will be several versions of the phone including a wireless model.

although this wasn’t the announcement that we were all waiting for, the rumored Apple iPhone…or whatever it may be called….is still said to be in the works.
