Hope the Bluray Xbox 360 rumors are true, cause Im ready for Bluray
A while ago, I bought something that soon will be of no use to me. I bought an HDDVD addon for the Xbox 360. I bought it around the time it was first made available. I bought it before the 5 free HDDVDs were being offered, I paid the full $199.99. I got home, connected the player and started watching King kong. Later, I bought Batman Begins, 300, Smoking Aces…about 6 movies total. I didn’t go crazy cause I always knew that there was the possibility that HDDVD could become Betamax.
The funny thing is, just last week. After it has been well known that HDDVD is over. I walked into a Moviestop and bought a used copy of Planet Earth on HDDVD. Why? I wanted to watch Planet Earth in HD and I dont have a Bluray player. I will get a Bluray player, I just have to have my HD content!! But I just haven’t figured out what I want. A PS3 or a standalone player. One thing that I am happy about is the new rumor heard over the weekend about Microsoft’s plan for Bluray.
Hears the deal, or the newest rumor. It is rumored that there will be a new Xbox 360 skew that comes with a 60 gig harddrive and maybe a built in Bluray player. There are all types of rumors involving the Xbox 360. Theres also talk of a pricedrop this month, and a Bluray addon.
What will happen? I think all will happen its just a matter of when. My biggest question now, should I buy a PS3 or standalone Bluray player, or wait for a Bluray addon for the 360?
(I know that picture is a pretty bad photoshop job)

I hope that Microsft takes the adoption. This could be huge for the industry of Gamers out there. Playstation already has the cake on this one, so lets see if Microsoft can step up.

Microsoft have said that the XBox 360 WONT be Blu-Ray.
Maybe they are looking at a new machine for the future that will be Blu-Ray….
But, for now, dont expect to see it.

Yea they have announced that since this post. Actually what they said was
“Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience”
This was after Sony’s president said they were indeed in talks with Microsoft to add bluray. Both sides said something different. Someone is lying.
I still think we will see Bluray in some form for the Xbox 360 this year.

Yeah, I heard the same stuff as David. Microsoft is ditching the idea of incorporating an add-on bluray player and sticking with trying to incorporate “digital media” within their system.
