I’m a bachelor, not single but I am an unmarried man, with no kids….live alone. I don’t really have a lot of stereotypical bachelor type things….other than the 55" HDTV, the game consoles, the PC’s, the leather reclining furniture, the Dolby Digital surround sound system….well I guess I do have some of that stereotypical bachelor type stuff.

One place that doesn’t have a lot of things that you would consider to be bachelor items is the kitchen, yea I have the normal stuff, a toaster, dishes, microwave, a kitchen table etc. To be honest, my kitchen is basically a room that holds my mail, and contains that white box that you put drinks in to keep cool. I was thinking….if I were to go on a bachelor shopping spree, for kitchen items, what would I get?

Heres 7 gadgets I think would be great for any bachelors kitchen.

1. Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Toaster

Most mornings, I’m barely getting up on time, and there really isn’t any time for breakfast. Nor do I really want to spend the time (if I had it) to cook up some eggs and I don’t use enough milk to keep any in the fridge so cereal is out of the question. Needless to say, this bachelor rarely eats breakfast. If I had the Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Toaster, that may change.

This nifty kitchen gadget has everything you need in one device. Just add English muffin, an egg, and a meat of choice in the handy meat heating tray and you’ll be having a home made McMuffin in minutes. And as you can see by the picture, it comes in the traditional bachelor color (black). No mistaking a woman lives here.

The Back to Basics Egg and Muffin Toaster will cost you $38.82 and can be found at Amazon.com

2. Home Cafe Single Serve Brewer by Black & Decker

I usually have a cup or 2 of coffee throughout my day, but all my coffee drinking is done at work. For some reason, I never think to drink a cup at home. Its not because I don’t have a coffee maker, because I do. Its just the coffee maker I have is so….plain. And I only want a cup, not a whole pot.

Maybe I should get this Home Cafe Single Serve Brewer by Black & Decker. The single serve brewer can make coffee a cup at a time, that way I’m not wasting a whole pot and can make one cup to go. You have 3 choices of sizes depending on how big of a cup you want and the coffee is made using a coffee house style pressure brewing system. With these 2 items, instead of leaving the house in the morning empty handed, I’ll be having coffee and a egg McMuffin on my way to work.

The Black & Decker Home Cafe Single Serve Brewer has a price tag of $29.95 and can be found over at iKitchen.com

3. George Foreman Combo Grill/Griddle

On the weekend, every once in a while, I do get the urge of having a nice full breakfast. But that would mean that I have to cook, and even worse, I will have pans, and bowls, and all other stuff I have to clean up afterwards. If only I could cook a full breakfast without all the "after work".
Grill Griddle.jpg
Well the George Foreman Combo Grill/Griddle wouldn’t completely alleviate my problem, but it could cut down on some of the dishes that has to be washed afterwards. Now this is an idea. its like good ole’ George combined the regular grill with a flat griddle. You can cook just about everything you would want for breakfast at one time, with one device. Will make any Saturday morning feel like Denny’s…at home.

Bachelors…Go to Amazon right now and get the George Foreman Combo Grill/Griddle ($54.95)

4. Biaggia Professional Pizza Oven

Now its time for dinner, and what is the honorary bachelor’s meal of choice? Say it with me….PIZZA. Yes we love Pizza. The cheese, the sauce, the pepperoni, the cholesterol….well I guess the cholesterol isn’t what we love about Pizza, but it is a necessary evil if you want a good "MAN" meal.
Biaggia Professional Pizza Oven.jpg
Why order out when you can have that same Pizzeria taste made right in your kitchen…by you….Introducing the Biaggia Professional Pizza Oven. This stainless steal beauty will cook up to a 12" pizza in minutes, just the way you like it. Not only will it cook Pizza, but you can use it to cook some of the other Bachelor type foods, such as Egg rolls and Hot Pockets (mmmmm).

5.StirChef Saucepan Stirrer.

Now we all know, every once in a while every bachelor has to cook a meal…not pizza…. a real meal, with vegetables, and sauces and stuff. The most annoying thing about trying to cook something for like a girlfriend or your parents is that a lot of things require you to continuously stir to keep whatever it is your cooking from sticking to the pan. And us bachelors don’t want to have to throw a pan away…its our only one, our mother gave it to us when we moved out 15 years ago.

To keep from having to throw away your family heirloom, try the StirChef Saucepan Stirrer. This device runs on 4 AA batteries and fits on top of a sauce pan and automatically stirs so you can go do other things. It has a couple of settings, continuous and intermittent,  and is dishwasher safe…ahh the only way to wash dishes.

The StirChef Saucepan Stirrer cost about $24.99 and you can find it at Amazon.com

6. Nostalgia Electric Beer Dispenser

Now on to what we all love, our favorite beverage…BEER. And how best served? Cold. The Nostalgia Electric Beer Dispenser is just what you need.  This handy fountain of joy can hold up to a 5 liter keg of your favorite frothy beverage.  The best thing….cooking.com claims this device will keep beer cold indefinitely.

7. Dust Mop Slippers

Now we’ve made breakfast, we’ve had our coffee. We’ve cooked a Pizza, and fixed dinner for our parents and washed it all down with a good ole cold glass of beer. All thats left to do is clean up, put the dishes in the dishwasher, put the gadgets away, finish off the last glass or 2 or 4 of beer. but guess what we don’t have to do…..Mop the floor!!!! Why? the whole time we were fiddling around in the kitchen we were wearing a pair of Dust Mop Slippers….yep you heard me, slippers that clean the floor while you walk around.
Dust Mop Slippers.jpg
Now this isn’t really a replacement for actually sweeping or mopping your kitchen floor, but they may cut down the frequency just a bit. To get a pair of these all you have to do is fork over $14.99 at Amazon and you’ll be dust mopping your floor without even knowing it.

So there you have it, 7 kitchen gadgets for the modern day bachelor. I don’t know if I’ll be getting any of these items any time soon but I know just where to put them if I do.
