Toshiba-HD-A3-HDDVD-Player-For-$125With the recent announcement just before CES…You know, the death blow of an announcement for HDDVD, the one where Warner chooses BluRay as their platform of choice. Many people are writing HDDVD off. Is it the end for HDDVD? I dont know. but times are looking pretty bleek. If you are still willing to take a chance on the almost dead format, you could get a player for a pretty good price right now. Now that I think about it. The low price may just be the thing that will keep HDDVD alive for a tad longer.

At Amazon, the Toshiba HD-A3 HDDVD player is going for $125. At that price, if Warner was still multiplatform would be a no brainer purchase. But that isn’t the case. None the less, $125 is still a really good price for that player. The Toshiba HD-A3 supports outputs of 720p and 1080i. It will also up convert your regular DVDs to those resolutions, and at that price, its still a good buy if you were going to use it as an up converting player with the occasional HDDVD rental from Netflix.

Check out the Toshiba HD-A3 at  Amazon.com ($125). Also, the Toshiba HD-A30 1080P HDDVD player is listed at Amazon for $164.
